Dr. Jim Ahumada and Dr. Helene Bergeron founded A&B Animal Clinic in December of 1990, just blocks from White Rock Lake in Dallas. They envisioned a clinic that fostered a welcoming environment for pets and people alike. By providing excellent, compassion-filled service to the residents of Dallas their dream became a reality. They worked tirelessly to improve the lives of every pet they came across, whether that meant treating household pets or taking in injured wildlife ranging from birds to opossums.
Dr. Ahumada – A native of El Paso, Dr. Ahumada was known for his service in the community as well as his practical approach to veterinary medicine. As hens became a popular pet, Dr. Ahumada was happy to treat them and in 2012 he earned the title of Best Chicken Vet in Dallas by the Dallas Observer. He was also involved in Boy Scouts of America, seeing both of his sons, Ian and Marc-Pierre, become Eagle Scouts.
Dr. Bergeron – Dr. Bergeron graduated in 1980 and earned her Masters Degree at Texas A&M in 1984, since then she has specialized small animal care. Dr. Bergeron continues to push A&B Animal Clinic to fully realize the dream that she and Dr. Ahumada began working towards in 1990. Although she only sees a limited number of cases these days, she has recruited like-minded and compassionate vets to help her continue the legacy that could only stem from A&B Animal Clinic.
